HISTORY

I am a 23 year old Graphic Design Major at Eastern Illinois University. I am originally from Mason City, IL a small rural community in the middle of Springfield, Lincoln, and Peoria. I come from a family of 6, Mom, Dad, myself(the oldest son) and 3 little brothers. My two youngest brothers started a band and wanted to get their name out on the web to give people more info about what was going on, and how to book them for parties, and so forth. Since I had been working with HTML and FLASH for other websites I had built in the past few years, I quickly threw together a website for them and it now recieves roughly 100 hits a day(and it's only been online since October 6th). They now have a huge local fan base and the word of their little group is quickly expanding.

I have used HTML code for web design for 5 years, starting in High School. I had a one page site for myself, one picture, and too much information. I then started using HTML in online message forums, and looked into design elements for web pages. By the time I started college I had 3 or 4 different personal sites built for family and friends, and then started to make more professional sites in 2001.

The first site under the D.R.Swaar Designs name was the CONSUMED site for my brothers(which was free, only because they are family). I then realized the potential of designing sites for local businesses. The TIME Theater in Mattoon I came across the hall by accident. I approched the owners about building them a site and we got started on it mid-October.

I have been working on PowerPoint since 1995. Beginning with simple animations through slide shows and slide transitions, and moving on to interactive presentations for classes in High School and College. PowerPoint is a great visual aid for speeches and for informational meetings. It can show a great deal of specific information in a way that will keep the audience's attention long enough to get your point across.
